This isn't going to be terribly lengthy, because it's just too damn exhausting to get to far into this, but at least I'm not the only one. Personally, I think we're already in a Depression; the numbers are too large, the troughs too deep, and it's gone on too damn long for it to be called anything else. Remember, the Great Depression (or rather, the First Great Depression) wasn't all straight downhill; there were periods of growth (though anemic) during that time period as well. You can't classify an economic state of affairs that lasted for nearly a Decade in easy, simple terms. To put it another way, during the midst of the 1st GD, for many who had lost their homes, their jobs, etc., that was the "new normal" for them, just as it is for millions today.
